2026 FOUNDING MEMBERSHIP
THE FOOTBALL FINANCE & FAIRNESS INITIATIVE
Football has no shortage of opinions about financial fairness. What it lacks is a structured way to examine responsibility, test the principles behind those opinions and explore better solutions.
The Football Finance & Fairness Initiative is being developed by FX League™ to combine evidence-led investigation, professional expertise, original Programming and audience participation.
We are inviting selected individuals and organisations to become 2026 Founding Members, helping establish an Initiative examining what a fair, sustainable and genuinely competitive future for English football should look like.
Three founding contribution levels: £1,000 | £5,000 | £10,000.
Founding Membership closes 31 December 2026. Contributions support Initiative development and activation, not equity ownership.
THREE CONNECTED PROPOSITIONS. ONE INITIATIVE.
The Initiative connects investigative Programming, structured examination of responsibility and interactive participation, creating opportunities for recurring content, informed debate and Collective Intelligence.
BIG PICTURE: Football Finance & Fairness
The launch Programming Series within BIG PICTURE, FX League™'s developing investigative editorial franchise.
Evidence-led Programmes examining football's financial structures, regulations, ownership, investment, governance and competitive consequences.
The Responsibility Test
A repeatable Programming format examining the decisions, available resources, alternative choices and responsibilities of clubs, owners, executives, regulators and other football stakeholders.
It can operate as an integrated Programme segment or a standalone recurring Series.
Your FFF Model
A participatory Programming format challenging supporters, experts and football professionals to establish financial-fairness principles, confront trade-offs and apply those principles consistently.
The format can operate within BIG PICTURE Programmes or as a standalone Series.
Interactive Participation & Collective Intelligence
A planned interactive Your FFF Model experience will enable people to build, compare and stress-test their own financial fairness principles.
Participation can generate insights, reactions and questions that feed into future investigations, Programming and possible solutions.
The ambition is to establish a recurring football-finance intelligence property, connecting research, professional expertise, Programming and audience participation.
FIVE DIMENSIONS OF FINANCIAL FAIRNESS
Football's financial system cannot be judged through regulatory compliance alone.
The Initiative examines five connected dimensions:
Financial Authenticity & Integrity: Are transactions, valuations and reported revenues genuine and accurately represented?
Regulatory Compliance: Have clubs complied with the rules applicable at the time?
Competitive Effect: How do financial resources, investment and restrictions influence sporting advantage and opportunity?
Policy Fairness: Are the rules proportionate and effective without unnecessarily protecting established financial advantages?
Financial Stewardship: Are owners and decision-makers protecting clubs, employees, supporters and communities?
Together, these questions examine not only whether rules have been followed, but whether the system itself is working as intended.

WHY NOW? A DEFINING MOMENT FOR FOOTBALL
Football is facing significant questions about financial regulation, sporting advantage, ownership investment, governance and competitive fairness.
The Independent Football Regulator's October 2026 draft State of the Game report found that 94% of clubs across England's top five divisions were loss-making, highlighting the financial pressures facing the game.
The Initiative aims to turn growing public and professional attention into sustained investigation, meaningful participation and informed consideration of better solutions.
THE 2026 FOUNDING OPPORTUNITY
The Football Finance & Fairness Initiative is moving through its founding development stage.
We are assembling a select group of Founding Members to support initial research, Programming development, interactive participation and launch infrastructure.
Founding participation provides recognised association from the Initiative's beginning, together with potential commercial visibility, professional relationships and future collaboration.
WHY BECOME A FOUNDING MEMBER?
Founding Members help establish the Initiative while securing recognised participation during its founding year.
Depending on the contribution level, benefits can include website recognition, launch communications, Programme association, commercial inventory and opportunities to develop relevant professional relationships.
The ambition is to create value beyond conventional sponsorship through recurring Programming, specialist expertise, audience engagement and future commercial collaboration.
THREE LEVELS OF FOUNDING PARTICIPATION
Individuals and organisations can participate at one of three contribution levels, reflecting their interests, commercial objectives and desired involvement.
£1K | Founding Supporter
Recognised 2026 Founding Member status, collective website and launch recognition, selected Founding Network participation and opportunities to explore future commercial involvement.
£5K | Founding Partner
Enhanced individual recognition, Programme association, agreed Standard Attention Break opportunities within activated Programming and structured commercial discussions.
£10K | Founding Specialist Partner
Premium specialist positioning, priority profile, enhanced recognition, stronger commercial inventory and a dedicated discussion about future specialist collaboration.
MORE THAN SPONSORSHIP
The Initiative aims to bring together organisations across football, finance, legal services, research, technology, media, production and professional services.
Founding participation can help establish relevant relationships, demonstrate specialist capabilities and identify potential opportunities for additional Programmes and commercial collaboration.
Future contracts, Programme funding, professional services and licensing arrangements would be separately negotiated. Founding participation does not guarantee future work or commercial returns.
HOW FOUNDING PARTICIPATION WORKS
We are privately inviting selected individuals and organisations to explore joining the Initiative during its 2026 founding period.
The process begins with a direct conversation to establish the most relevant contribution level, benefits and potential commercial alignment.
Explore The Opportunity
Discuss the Initiative's objectives, founding contribution levels, planned Programming and potential relevance to your organisation.
Agree Founding Participation
Identify the appropriate founding position and agree the applicable recognition, commercial rights, participation benefits and terms.
Develop The Relationship
Establish the founding association and explore relevant Programme participation, specialist collaboration and future commercial opportunities as the Initiative develops.
DISCUSS FOUNDING MEMBERSHIP
The 2026 Founding Membership opportunity is open to selected individuals and organisations interested in helping establish The Football Finance & Fairness Initiative.
Three contribution levels are available: £1,000, £5,000 and £10,000.
The 2026 Founding Window closes 31 December 2026. Commercial relationships may continue beyond that date, but 2026 Founding Member recognition cannot be acquired retrospectively.
The Football Finance & Fairness Initiative is developed and operated by FX League Limited. Founding contributions are separate from equity investment and do not provide control over independent editorial decisions.
